The Head Start program is in collaboration with Temple Independent School District .  The district has purchased an intervention program for letters called Fundations.  This program is widely used in Pre-Kinder and Kindergarten programs across the United States to enhance the learning of phonological awareness.  The district has also purchased a curriculum enhancing program for vocabulary called Developing Talkers that is being integrated across the programs within TISD for Pre K.

 

Parent involvement is crucial for the success of your child in learning phonological awareness, vocabulary and number skills.   Our Head Start Teachers send activities home each week for you to work with your child to help strengthen their knowledge as well as build important connections to their classroom learning.  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask your child's classroom teacher or integration teacher for clarification.  Thank you for all you do as a parent to support your child's academic growth.
